Saved Avatar

(Intro)
Weighed down by the burdening load,
I finally hit the heavenly road.
The Saviour took me by the hand,
and so I've reached the promised land.

Happy faces in the house of the Lord,
harmonizing like a bell accord.
The inner void is finally filled,
and the thirst is also stilled.
Surrounded by security
I'll rejoice for eternity.

(Intro 2)
Now everything fits together well
My old life feels like a jail cell
Those who do not understand,
Cannot hold my friendly hand.

I stick to the rules in the land of the lord
I sing praise and glory to the adored
every day I lift my voice
to worship and let my soul rejoice.
I spread the love to everyone
to become his favorite son

(Chorus)
For the rescued avatar
all looks clear by far.
He renounces the past
since he knows the truth at last.
For the world he went forlorn,
because he was reborn.

(Solo)

(Bridge)
When I fall down on my knees
in the heavenly hierarchies
I'll get closer to his grace
and I'll please him with my faith

The lions eat grass in the land of the Lord,
Where my soul has been restored
Why do you ask me to fall behind
To the time when I was blind?
There was just loneliness and pain
And they would get me back again

(Chorus)
For the rescued avatar
all looks clear by far.
He renounces the past
since he knows the truth at last.
For the world he went forlorn,
because he was reborn.

After the Lost Avatar from our earlier album felt in despair in a bar at the end of the world, he now makes religious experience in the land of his savior. Faith gives him warmth, security and backing, but unfortunately with the side effect that he now believes to be something better and to know "the truth". But it's still not the whole story and a follow up will come.
Musically, it had to be gospel, and the Hammond organ was a must. I beared the scene with James Brown in "Blues Brothers" in my mind. The many demands were probably quite a challenge for Achim. Whith the organ, we fortunately got help from Bernhard Nitsche. I think the song has become surprisingly good.        Jo
