I used to take my son home from his football practice, watching the last minutes of his training. At the same time on the other half of the pitch the girls who were two years older were practicing. Whereas the boys love to play team shirts of their favourite players, dreaming of becoming stinking rich stars themselves, the girls are wearing plain sport shirts. Women's football today is still the say way men's football used to be: not just there for the money and for entertainment of the masses, but just for the sports. I appreciate this a lot. And so I wrote my hymn to girls' and women's football. I hired my daughter to do the girls choir. She hates football but she loves to sing.
