We are the greatest Pogo troop We teach you how to loop Don't care for social graces Tune yourself on Mohawk bases (Chorus) You need to jump up and down Up, up, up and down, Up, up, up and down, And if someone pushes you If someone pushes you Then ... push him back! Bum a ciggy from a goop Get a beer and start to whoop Go and join your square dance aces And listen to our easy paces (Chorus) (Solo) Always dance in front of the scene Don't scare pensioners in between Better push your cool cousin And if you're kicked don't get extreme And if someone falls down, Then pick him up again Pick him up again And then just jump up and down up, up, up and down, up, up, up and down!

Like most Germans trying desperately to be politically correct and thinking only left is right, I used to avoid the notorious band Rammstein for many years. But finally I dared to make up my own mind and soon after that I started to love this band. I was writing the melody of "Pogo Class" when I was listening to Rammstein a lot. Strangely, Jo was rather thinking of punk rock when he wrote the lyrics, but so what. Achim
Achim's hard template allowed no other interpretation than to punk. Although punk and I have a common history (we were young together), I had no idea at the beginning. Looking for punk stories in the web I just encountered pogo dancing lessons. Then I realized that this was exactly the right thing for the song. I also had in mind our old friend Klaus N. Frick, who always hung around to punk concerts and probably still does.
